Founder Story

Zanele Khumalo

Zanele Khumalo is a young female agri-preneur from City of Tshwane who built Setlhare Farm from a single pig house into a multi-department agricultural enterprise. Operating across 21.5 hectares in Arcadia, Pretoria, Vereeniging, she represents a new generation of South African farmers who combine practical skill with entrepreneurial drive.

From securing government agricultural grant funding through the Department of Rural Development to establishing supply relationships with national buyers, Zanele has built a business that is both commercially viable and socially grounded. Her target: 30 permanent jobs by 2028, with a training facility for youth aged 18–35 from Pretoria and surrounding districts.
